Flooring Summit 2024
Thank you to all that attended and helped to make this event great! Just wanted to write a quick recap of the Summit with some key takeaways that I hope we can work on in 2025. We had two really great presenters:
Geoff Gordon- FUSE Alliance
Geoff gave an enlightened presentation about the opportunities that our Union is missing in marketing to the industry and partnering with our manufacturers. These are some of the ideas that Leadership has been kicking around for a while, but Geoff put these ideas in a clean and well thought out unbiased presentation that was helpful to both our Floor Covering Association and our Union Partners.
Joe Kiedeinger- Dignify
Joe helped us understand ourselves and our partners in this meeting through his Pre-conference Survey and presentation. Personally, I was inspired by his presentation and conversations I had with him throughout the conference. In fact, MCF just started working with Joe to help manage our company growth and perform leadership training.
Key Takeaways:
The feedback we received from most attendees is that it was a very informative meeting in which the union and the flooring contractors were sharing problems and discussing solutions in a very transparent and honest discussion. It was pretty obvious we all have similar problems and are searching for solutions in our own way and a lot of times in a Vacuum. Here are the key takeaways from our conference as a whole:
Better Marketing
-LMCC is working with Apprenticeship and the Union to elevate our Branding and Messaging.
Better Communication between Union and Flooring Contractor's via a Quarterly Newsletter
-SoCal LMCC is working with David Wiinkler from DC#5 on first edition in January 2025.
Partnering with Manufacturer’s to strengthen their brand and ours!
-SoCal LMCC is reaching out to our local Tarkett, Shaw, and Mohawk, and Bentley contacts to discuss partnership opportunities.
